Town of Kinnickinnic
Town Board Meeting
December 7, 2010
I. Meeting called to order by Chair Roger Van Beek at 7:00 pm.
II. Roll Call: present was Roger Van Beek, Milo Oppegard, John Humphrey, Mary Murphy, and absent was Bill Gnatzig. Also present was Brenda LaValley Treasurer, Clerk Lola Higgins and DZA Ed Flanum.
III. Statement of Public Notice was presented and put on file for public record.
IV. Clerk’s report was given and put on file for public record. Minutes from November Town Board meeting were approved; RVB/JH all in favor, Milo Oppegard abstained.
V. Treasurer’s report was given and put on file for public record.
VI. Building Inspector’s report was presented and put on file for public record.
VII. Public Comments: none.
VIII. New Business
a. Road Committee report and update. Roger Van Beek said the Road Committee is working with the County on the Road and Driveway Ordinance and working thru private roads vs. public roads. He went on to say Quarry Road, the design and potential costs are being looked at and reviewed for possible reconstruction in 2012.
IX. Old Business
a. Rural Fire Association Cost Recovery Ordinance discussion and action. Bob Loberg left a message that he will be changing the ordinance to better fit the Town of Kinnickinnic. He also added that he thought the Board should consider something added to the By Laws regarding double billing of car accidents.
b. Newsletter articles discussion and action. Clerk Higgins asked the Board if they would like to continue with 2 newsletters a year now that the new website is up and running. Murphy suggested having one newsletter a year right before the Spring Election. It was decided to publish a Town newsletter annually before the Spring Election.
X. Pay Bills, a motion was made to pay the bills, MM/RVB all in favor.
XI. Chair Announcements, there will be no Plan Commission meeting in December. The Road Committee will meet January 12, 2011; Mary Murphy asked if an agenda item for January could be Ehlers and Associates out of Roseville MN, they give presentations for free.
XII. Adjourn, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting RVB/JH all in favor.
